About
The art I make is a product of the stories I want to tell. Visual storytelling goes back centuries, linking us together like a chain. Much like prehistoric cave paintings and quilts passed down from mother to daughter- my work is just at the end of that long chain. It is fascinating how people told their stories, how they used composition and light and color could create an entirely new narrative. Even the stories I heard as a child through books and cartoons hold this idea and they’ve had me in a chokehold ever since I was first exposed to them.

Often a story idea will come seemingly out of nowhere. I could be wandering around my apartment looking for something and think, “Why am I doing this? Why would someone else do it, and how?” From there the gears in my head start to turn and create a story out of these simple questions.

I use digital art to create illustrations and storyboards, using visual motifs to tell the stories I’ve envisioned, and then use video to make the characters come alive.
